Went for the Sonic Tree Natives jam, last night. Had my sketchbook with me so, I drew the band members and others while listening to them. Came back, scanned the sketches and made this collage out of it. You can see the other sketches on my flickr link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/somsesh/sets/72157623689533305/

From my window
Looking out from the back window of my house, you can see the tall buildings of Nehru place overlapping each other. In the night when the neon signs are lit up on the buildings, the view looks painted with orange highlighter pens.

In the papers
Hindustan Times, Mumbai, Cafe edition published an article on the newly released first issue of Comix India. I submitted a part of my graphic novel for this issue. They have used one of the illustrations of mine for the print. Sadly, didn't write anything about my story :(
You can visit the website of Comix India here -

Nostalgia
Framed a few record covers which my Baba bought long back. One of it is of 'Mukesh'. Love this one, his voice soaked with honesty has always reflected an earnest singing. Also, got framed a poster designed by Hema and Dhun Karkaria. Really well illustrated and captures the grandeur of Kite flying in Ahmedabad. The rest two posters are from the legendary movies 'Deewar' and 'Milan' (bought this one for Sunil Dutt).

Matchbox collection.
A few favourite ones out of my match box collection. Counted them a week back. 280 is the number of matchboxes, I have picked up in the past 4 years. The style of the matchboxes are varied but, a few things can be collected after observing the over all look and feel of it. Generally manufactured with using bright red, yellow, blue and at times green colour. Some try gradients in the background with actual photographs, suggesting the role of digital media venturing in the local graphic design space. My favourites are the one which have quirky titles, outlined bold typography and good use of positive and negative space. I love the 'LOVE' one with two swans.

Jadoo
Took this photograph a year back in Patna. A few sculptors from Rajasthan were painting Jadoo and it was for sale with other Gods.
